Juxtaposition 2

My reflection

On this week, En. Razibedu gave the lecture about the juxtaposition. He continued the lesson from last week. He gave the lecture with more details during class and guides us step by step and asking us to do some exercise at class in order to make sure all of us can understand it easily in the class. At the end of the class, i would be able to understand about the topic of juxtaposition. Here are the exercises that i have done during the class, it is quite interesting!

First, we have to copy down the words which is given by the lecturer, then list out 3 numbers which should include 2 digit number you like. Next, write the number from 1-9 beside the words as what i have shown in the image above. After that, combine the word according to the numbers u choose.

This is the drawing that we draw according to 2 digit numbers we choose based on the word but yet not combine.

This is the drawing that we drew based on the 2 words we combine together. This shown how the 2 words formed an images from our own ideas after combine the words.
1. Flower Lighting
2. Ice Tree
3. Fire Wood
Other than that, the lecture also show us the picture of a chili and ask us to write at least 4 lines of sentence to form a poem based on concept of Love.

Here are the sentences i wrote on the class: You look red all the time in my mind
And you are too hot in my heart
Feel like a huge passion pull toward on me

And you always make me feel tasty

Describe the concept of "Life" based on the picture below:

Life is like a candle
It shines all the time

It is highlight and wonderful

When it is end of burning

Mean it is end of the life

Describe the concept of "Man or Women" based on the picture below:

Mortar and pestle are strong as man
They look stable and firm

They act tough no matter what happen

Protect their beloved from dangerous

Describe the concept of "Happiness" based on the picture below:

Time always gives happiness
Spend time on happiness

Could always feel warm and sweet

Although it cannot stop the time

But it is worthy to recall back

This week i would like to share a short funny poem. Here is the short poem, please have a look here:

please be neat and wipe the seat
if you do a number 2
just be nice and flush the loo"

Juxtaposition

What is the exact meaning of juxtaposition?

Juxtaposition refer to the alignment of two opposite terms or to place close together or side by side, especially for similarity or contrast in a comparison. It is usually 'turning' something familiar to something less familiar or vice-versa.

Here are some examples of juxtaposition

Here the Church is juxtaposed beside a tall contrasting blue building

The two penquins are juxtaposed in the water, capturing one from above and to the side and the other from below and underneath giving a 360 degree view, clever?

This is a beauty, the smoke stacks with each other and the houses to note the similarities and differences, not forgetting the clouds of smoke with the clouds in the sky, of course

My reflection on this lesson is i think most of the thing we see, read, or watch something are always related to juxtaposition. Juxtaposition always 'turning' something familiar to something less familiar or vice-versa as well as include something into similarity or contrast in a comparison in our life.

Associated Mind Map

The lesson that i have learned in class on this week is how to plan and do a logical mind map. During the class, En. Razibedu has lectured about the logical mind map and taught us how to create it. Before create the mind map, we should do some research as what En. Razibedu shown us in the class which is 'Mortar and Pestle'. After collecting the info about Mortar and Pestle, we should write it as a report before start the mind map. Besides that, he also taught us how to choose a random word from the logical mind map on practice and try to think or connect to others creative function of using mortar and pestle.
Mortar and Pestle

Here is the mind map that i have done. The keyword is chosen and we are asked to provide and draw out the new creative function of the mortar and pestle for each that is different from the past and applied it today and also in the future which is posted below.

I would like to share the creative stuff on this week. It is too creative when you see those stuff. It is awesome. Here are some images that i choose from the internet.

Porcelain 'Egg Bank' by designer Kensaku Oshiro. Put the coins in the slot, of course. The only way to get them back is to crack open the egg.

Convergent and Divergent thinking, Logical Mindmap, Stereoptypes

Method of Creative Thinking

There are 2 types of creative thinking which is convergent thinking and divergent thinking. Convergent thinking is the method of narrowing the playing field. It takes all the possibilities or different thing to bring it together and finally comes out with a choice or turn into a solution. On the other hand, diverging thinking is the method of expanding the playing field. It always involves brainstorming and looking for alternative or different possibility. For example, there is two different of growing direction for a seed, one is grow upward in order to get the sunlight while another is grow downward to looking for water which is needed by the root.

Briefing on mind maps

What will be come directly to our mind at the first time when we talk about the mind map? It is undoubtedly brainstorming this word will come to our mind at the first time because it is a big relevant to the mind map.

Mind mapping is a great tool for idea generation and brainstorming. It enhance both sides of the human brain and widely used in taking notes, research or generating new ideas. Logical mind map is directly connected to stereotype and every word or images that is directly related to the central of the subject while associated mind map enable us to generate random words and also show the links between words that seem have no connection.

Introduction to Stereotype

Stereotype is a commonly held public belief about specific social groups or types of individuals. The concepts of "stereotype" and "prejudice" are often confused with many other different meanings. Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups based on some prior assumptions. Generally speaking, stereotypes are not based on objective truth but rather subjective and sometimes unverifiable content-matter.

reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereotype

There are several examples of stereotypes. For instance, all Blondes are less wisdom, all muslims are terrorist, all Black people are lazy and so on. All these are the most popular and common stereotype as we all know.

My reflection on this lesson is we must always have diverging and converging thinking in solving problems in our daily life. Besides, mind map is very useful by collecting and connecting relevant information together and make it less words so people will be easy to understand it in a short time. Nowadays, people are always influenced by stereotypes which is a public belief about specific social groups or types of individuals.

This week i would like to share some creative video. Here are some creative ads video. Lets have some look here.
