Convergent and Divergent thinking, Logical Mindmap, Stereoptypes

Method of Creative Thinking

There are 2 types of creative thinking which is convergent thinking and divergent thinking. Convergent thinking is the method of narrowing the playing field. It takes all the possibilities or different thing to bring it together and finally comes out with a choice or turn into a solution. On the other hand, diverging thinking is the method of expanding the playing field. It always involves brainstorming and looking for alternative or different possibility. For example, there is two different of growing direction for a seed, one is grow upward in order to get the sunlight while another is grow downward to looking for water which is needed by the root.

Briefing on mind maps

What will be come directly to our mind at the first time when we talk about the mind map? It is undoubtedly brainstorming this word will come to our mind at the first time because it is a big relevant to the mind map.

Mind mapping is a great tool for idea generation and brainstorming. It enhance both sides of the human brain and widely used in taking notes, research or generating new ideas. Logical mind map is directly connected to stereotype and every word or images that is directly related to the central of the subject while associated mind map enable us to generate random words and also show the links between words that seem have no connection.

Introduction to Stereotype

Stereotype is a commonly held public belief about specific social groups or types of individuals. The concepts of "stereotype" and "prejudice" are often confused with many other different meanings. Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups based on some prior assumptions. Generally speaking, stereotypes are not based on objective truth but rather subjective and sometimes unverifiable content-matter.

There are several examples of stereotypes. For instance, all Blondes are less wisdom, all muslims are terrorist, all Black people are lazy and so on. All these are the most popular and common stereotype as we all know.

My reflection on this lesson is we must always have diverging and converging thinking in solving problems in our daily life. Besides, mind map is very useful by collecting and connecting relevant information together and make it less words so people will be easy to understand it in a short time. Nowadays, people are always influenced by stereotypes which is a public belief about specific social groups or types of individuals.

This week i would like to share some creative video. Here are some creative ads video. Lets have some look here.
